Damn dude.. that too friggin smooth!! I love the shading and hair.. really looks life-like!
What screen resolution do you use? Also, is it hard to work on a painting as big as 3000x2800?

thanks guys,
Sowler - I work at a screenres. of 1280*1024 on my 17'' monitor (looking forward to getting that 21'' sony thingy). I dont find it that hard to work in highres. You just need a computer that can handle it. 3000*2800 isn't really that big. I'm moving up in res. now to the double of that! Also I don't paint at 100% zoom. Most of time I have the painting zoomed out to about 25% so I can see the whole painting. I also like ot have two views open at the same time - one at 25% and the other zoomed a bit more in.
Frost - Thanks dude. I appreciate it.

How do you smooth the rough lines into the smooth gradations like from 2-3?
With the smudge tool?

Amnesia - step 2 to 3 is mainly done with the paintbrush set at a low oppacity (ca. 50%). I prefer to do most of the shading with the paintbrush as this give a more painted feeling and less blurry picture. Then later on I will do even more subtle blending with the airbrush set around 20% opacity. No smudging!

BooMStick: The navbars on your site are a bit out of range when viewing your page with Netscape. The Grey lines on top and on the bottom are too small so that the text with the links isn't readable. I managed to see one of your bodystudies though: It looks great. I did't find much else because of the navigation, which bothers me, because I would really like to see some more! |
