Is it me, or are breasts about the hardest thing to draw on a form when it's viewed in full from any angle but head-on?

Grr.......driving me nuts.

--Lemur-X -- No "hasn't seen boobs" jokes. Cuz I have.

bit of trivia for you

lara is only that big cause of the technology limitations when the first game was made (although i think the success made core / eidos decide to keep the enormity...).

apparently if they weren't that big she'd have looked like a man with big pecs

do we believe them? hmm. no.

As mentioned above, if you want examples of anything having to do with the female body, the internet is your friend. If you lack the time/resources/inclination to work from live models, alt.mag.playboy will give you all the help you need.

There are also some good actual books out there, "Anatomy for Artists" (or any variation on that title) has some good reference and examples for how different body parts look in different positions and from different perspectives, and some good tips for keeping proportions right.

For modeling them in 3d, build a rough shape with patch grids or some equivalent polygon based objects and then meshmooth it.

Aw Darkmage, you actually believe that Lemur-X can't draw boobies ? He's an expert on such female parts. Look at his nickname. It even has an 'X' on it. Doesn't that mean something to you ?

I've seen my fair share of boobs. Drawing them is a little different. I was doing a pic that had slight nudity, and I wasn't in the mood to track down pics for it. (was at work. )

The 'X' means my last Ex went fucking psycho on me. There. Now it means something to you.

Hi,

This topic caught my attention because
I was just working on a 3D female breast
a moment ago. Seems like a hemisphere
does it pretty well. I just shaped it a
little and turned out exceptionally realistic
=) Can't say the same for the body I did
though =( Perhaps I should just stick with
NURBS modelling =)

King o the Weasel-kind : Nah. No hard feelings. I was kidding in my reply (tho my ex did go nutty). I learned to take everything with a grain of salt. Especially whatever you read online. Sarcasm doesn't translate well in print.

--Lemur-X : At work with jack shit to do. HEY! I'm making money typing this up! Muahaha.

Hey all... kind of my first post here, but I've been reading for ages...

Here's my trick... do a flat (2d) outline of the area you are trying to draw then add depth in by shading. It's a rough way, and takes a little longer but it's generally a good way to work out proper perspective to other body parts. Also you can do some funky shite with lighting in the process...

Hope that makes sense
