thje guys look a lil static, the best way to bring a piece like this to life, is to give the ants some sort of emotional quality, maybe try bending their facial tenticles to signify some sort of emotion, maybe light them with more dramatic effects, try and figure out wjhat mood you want fiorst, then do your best to re-create that mood into the art.

Hey, A Bugs Life 2 is out already ?
Your 3D ants is cool. I think what you need to do to make your scene come to life is by applying appropriate textures and bumps. Good use of textures is important for 3D models because it helps the image look photorealistic. Maybe you can also consider on using atmospheric effects such as fog f/x (volume lights) to make your scene look more dramatic.
