Hi, I've recently found Dhabih's site and joined in your forum. I'm greatly impressed by all you pics, and I wish to start creating my own images. I plan to buy a 6x8 Wacom, but I was wondering if my Paint Shop Pro 6 is good enough to use for creating computer images. I noticed most-if not all of you- used Adobe Photoshop. I read at Cnet "...at $99, Paint Shop Pro offers 90 percent of Photoshop's built-in functionality at around 10 percent of the price" ( review found at http://home.cnet.com/software/0-3680-7-122250.html?st.cn.sr1.ssr.cn_pntshprev&tag=st.cn.sr.bb.1. ) I'm not planning on doing professional work soon I just need to know if Paint Shop Pro would be a good substitute. Thanks in advance.

If you learn PSP you can pretty much move onto PS without any trouble most of the tools are similar just named differently. Alot of people do good work with PSP and it certainly is a cheaper alternative.
Hope this helps some.

I always used to use PSP, but since I got me wacom, Ive just found PS better... if you want PS stuff for PSP price, you could always get PS5 Limited Edition which is around 70/$100-ish It doesnt have alpha channel stuff or paths or things like that, but its still pretty good. Adobes site has a little comparison list somewhere on it... |

try satori film 64, they dropped the price from $800 to $99 (!!). The software has everything you need to paint and it's r.i.
