extremely funny movies?

heres some of my favorite all time funny movies.

-police academy (1-6, NOT 7)
-ferris bueller's day off
-sixteen candles

i know theres loads more but these were off the top of my head. personally, i think 80's humor, in fact, 80's movies in general, are WAY better then stuff made from 1996-2000. i mean, ever since 1996, all movies have taken on this really annoying feel to them...

like, all humor these days are basically all slapstick shit, and all action movies these days have completely thrown away good plots, acting, and reason....i mean, the action movies from 1990-1995 (die hard 3, for example, usual suspects) for example, were awesome, recent movies (hollow man) all have this lackluster atmosphere, poor acting, bad scripts and unclever one-liners...the list goes on.

oh well i rambled on again! back to the topic. what are some really funny movies you guys have seen?

Three words -

Withnail & I...

Also, anything by Kevin Smith, but especially Clerks and Chasing Amy:

"I'll kick your ass you fuc*ing tracer!"

"I'll trace a chalk line around your dead fuc*ing body!"

Ah... gues you had to be there, eh

Oh, and we can't forget Spinal Tap...

Listing 80's movies and you didn't mention "The Breakfast Club"?

I thought that was quite funny.

"Who did you mom marry, Mr. Rogers?"

"No, Mr. Johnson" hehe

"Surely there must be something you can do?!"
"There isn't. And stop calling me Shirley."
---------------------------------------------
"And that's when I developed my drinking problem."
---------------------------------------------
"Get me Rex Kramer!"
---------------------------------------------
"I just received some news from headquarters"
"What is it?"
"A big building where generals meet, but that's not important right now..."
---------------------------------------------
Oh God, I'm laughing my head off just remebering this stuff! Buaahhaa!
Apologies for any inaccuracies, these are quoted from memory.

Oh, all the Monty Python movies rule as well. Especially Search For The Holy Grail. "And there was much rejoicement."

Woohoo! Chasing Amy! That film made me piss myself. (OK - not quite...)

Yep - the Airplane ones are very cool, as are the Monty Pythons
Fetchez la vache!

Austin Powers 2 had some cool bits too....The first one wasn't as consistently funny.

"There is nothing more irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we would be getting into that rotten stuff sooner or later."
You gotta give credit to movie that starts off with two guys loading their car's trunk to the brink with alcohol and drugs.

-Kentucky Fried Movie
-Dr. Strangelove
-Clerks
-Dolemite
-Full Metal Jacket (boot camp cracks me up)
-Rikki Oh!: The Story of Rikki
-Monty Python (in general)
-Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

those are some of my personal faves

Count Zero: You forgot two classic lines.

"Like a blind man in an orgy.. I had to feel my way around."
"Like a midget in a bathroom stall.. I was on the tip of my toes."

Oh yeah, damn.
ZAZ rules.
And how did we all neglect Hot Shots!? :X
"I fell for you like a blind roofer" (or was that actually from Naked Gun? Can't remember...)
"Topper Harley: Playing to lose is like sleeping with your sister. Sure she's a great piece of tail with a blouse full of goodies, but it's just illegal. Then you get into that whole inbred thing. Kids with no teeth who do nothing but play the banjo... eat apple sauce through a straw... pork farm animals."
"I even have my father's eyes."
What else... It's mostly visual (pun unintended ) gags, though.
Oh, and from part deux:
"Topper Harley: President Benson.
President Benson: No you're not. I've seen him on TV. An older man, about my height."
