I apologize for my last post, yelling about peoples commenting. I'm relatively new to 'forums' and just figured that if you wanted comments, you asked for them. Apparently i was wrong. Anyway, again I apologize..hopefully it'll be accepted. I'm starting fresh. Here's a new piece. Comment as you like, no worries.

oops.. um done in PS5.5, couple hours, photo reference.

Very very nice. I love how you've done the hair and the way her skin is almost translucent. it's a nice departue from your other work, much more realistic. Ever considered working on a larger scale? I'd love to see something like that come out of you.

Cool pic! I like the contrast and the skin texture - bloods a good touch...

If I had to be really critical, I'd say that you could add a bit more shading on the left side of the lower lip (your left, not hers), as it sort of looks like her lips are stuck at that side.

Again, thats only being real critical. It rocks, keep up the good work!

Fallen, kickass =))).
I like it ALOT!!!!
and what I like the most, is a shading of the skin (towards the hair)
Tell me, are you demoscene related.
I seem to recall "Fallen" from somewhere, maybe we met at #pixel or something.

Awesome! Seems you're able to draw things other than those Manga chicks after all. Personally, I think the iris could use just a little more detail (or maybe darken it a little). Other than that a great pic.

A.Buttle- i used to airbrush on 48 x60 canvas, but i like this way better...no paint mess.
Daedalus IIIrd- funny, that part of the lips were bugging me as well
yoszi-me too
derPunkt-never heard of it.
Oscar-I was trying to keep them toned down a little to give the effect they're vacant. But i also didn't want to go all white..too typical of the 'nosferatu'.

good to see you've come back, I loved your other work (great style, colour, proportion).

this piece is similarly awesome. one thing that i find distracting is the position of the left (yours) eyeball, which looks a little too far over to me. maybe it's just me.

skin texture looks great, and the overall contrast to the image is fantastic.

Cool pic Fallen. The only thing I noticed a little odd was the blood on the lip. Seems like it should be a little darker. The angle it takes dripping down seems a little off too. The color of it on the chin is cool.

very, very cool. The cracked/vein-like structure at the edges of her face is really cool. Agree about the blood though, it's too straight and seems to flow in the wrong direction.

Other than that, kick ass. Very atmospheric.

Synj, your comments are out of line. Aside from the fact that Fallen admitted to useing a photo reference in his original post, a side by side comparison of the two images reveal enough differences to prove that he didn't simply apply filters and touch up to a photo.

Well, I believe he actually repainted it. I overlayed both images in photoshop, and did some resclaing, and although they are very much alike, there are portions which at least required some repaint.

Besides, I rather believe someone actually did the work than thinking 'rip' -- I guess that makes me gullable.

Well, the result is nicer than anything I can do or ever did in my life, so I can't exactly go and flame it. Danny and a few others can do amazing repaints using references, why can't Fallen?

The hell do I know...

hey there fallen. i've got a question:

how do you get the lines for the hair to be so SOOO smooth?

when i draw with photoshop, i basically use the paint/airbrush tools like they were real paints, and i never manage to get a really slick line. usually this isn't a problem, but i'd love to know how to do it.

Yeah..guys I don't think we should go witch hunting with every picture someone posts. Fallen clearly stated it was done from photo reference, and understanding that, I think he did a damn good job.

Hear hear! Immi. Good job Fallen, very nice work. I really love the hair....wondering how you did it

I am doing a PR(photo reference) picture right now, there is nothing wrong with doing that in my book. It helps me learn the human body and how things should be, anyways.

Hey Synj - how long that post of your's required your 'thinking'.
If you're interested in digital art, you should certainly take your time to look at images, before you post (in this forum dead serious) accusations like that.
Sorry to be so harsh, but it's like "Hey - that guy stole my wallet." ... "Ooops - I found it in my pocket - sorry!"

Only got three hours of sleep tonight - sorry.
Good job Fallen - there's no doubt you painted this. I like all your stuff anyway!

Welcome back Fallen!
Apology accepted. You chosed really nice colours on this one i think. Always fresh.
It was only one thing i noticed. I think maybe the eyes(white) are a bit flat compared
to the rest of her face. Maybe you could shade them a bit more to make them round.
Othervise it looks fine

haha screw you is all i gotta say. even if he didn't slap a few filters over it (which he did) that's the gayest form of art. That's not from life, nor is it creative. So eat.

Cool shit, Fallen. Kinda reminds me of a vampire version of the original cover for "Night of the Living Dead".

I didn't know what you were apologizing about, so I re-read that post and laffed my ass off. Man, I come back from a week in Chicago and this place is on fire.

Yo Synj, "so eat" what? *insert barrage of profanities here* Opinions are welcome on this forum, attitude and insults are not, so go eat.

Cheers,

Xcal

Synj...
Even if he painted it from a photo who cares?
I personally doubt strongly that Fallens pic is a manipulated piece. There is no traces of it.A lot of professional artists
uses photos as refference.

There's nothing wrong with photo reference.
There were absolutely NO filters used on this piece. (though i see nothing wrong with filters when used sparcely--Synj)
Thanx for the feedback

I think we all believe you Fallen. (with the exception of synj) Which reminds me.. synj what filters would you run to get Fallen's result and I'd love to see a demonstration or tutorial. Seems to me running filters to get the end result would be more time consuming than just painting.

What the hell is with the sudden upsurge of ignorant morons on this forum??? Yes, Synj, I'm referring to you. Stop trying to destroy this place. We have enough garbage and offsub comments to sift through without some new guy marching up and contributing. If you're not going to help out around here, then just shut up.

RAHHhheheehehe lick the sack mister. LICK IT. You call yourselves artists when you work straight from photos. That photo has no meaning to you, plus it was taken by someone else and I freeze me pee and feed it to you. You call yourselves artists when you are only open to "thats good" and believe everything you read. Come back when i grow up asshole.
