Hi!
Sorry Danny! I didn't mean to use your name to lure people into this thread, but your 'white' picture did inspire me to the bodystudy (nice name, eh?) picture below.
Hope you like it.

BoomStick,
that's quality stuff dude! VERY cool!
Don't you agree that black&white imagery has that special feel to it that is able to freeze moments in time unlike coloured stuff is able to?
When used *properly* and at the right time, I think B&W can be more powerfull than colours...
Well done Boomer!
Danny

Cool shite biiitch!
Did you use the dodge/burn tools? They work really well on B/W images... I wonder what it would look like in colour. Very, wait, VERY cool pic! |

Yeah...I'm with Spitfire on this...posting stuff of this nature is just plain inconsiderate and rude for those people at work.
Also...I know its such a juvenile thing to say...but I've got to say...Man, those breasts sure do look good! |

"good" as synonymous with "fake" (not a comment on the pic)
I like the bit around the solarplexus/ base of the ribs. the highlighting there is cool |

Wow. That rules. Only thing that puzzles me is her armpit. What's that flap of skin hanging down? Oh well, that's still one AWESOME pic. |

thanks guys. I'm glad you like it.
Danny - Yes, I really do think that b/w stuff can be more convincing and powerfull than color work. Just like when you can look at a 3dimage in b/w and be convinced that it is real, but when the colors are applied the illusion is somehow lost! I dunno, maybe It's just easier for the brain to handle b/w stuff??
Fallen - heh! she called me man!
Oscar - Nope, no burn and only very very little dodgeing. Mainly used on the hair and those moisture spots on the stomach. And no smudgeing either for that matter...
Xcal - Yeah! I used reference. Long time since I last did that, but theres just simply no way you could get those shadows that realistic without reference. If you could see the original, you would see how different from that the drawing is, but the shadows are very much like the photo I think.
...The armpit may be looking a bit funky, but actually it looked kinda funky in the picture... Maybe not THAT funky, but still...
Thanks again all of you for replying.
For those interested in seeing how I did it, I will put some of the steps up my site soon. I will let you know when...

Props to you for a great piece, Boomstick -- As Danny said; Black and white imagery is very powerful if used in the right way...Good job!

Looks like a perfect adpiece. Very nice work. Did you use any references? Say yes, so I won't feel so inferior
Not having her face visible really adds a lot to the piece. Wish I had time to try one myself.
