unfortunatly it seems that the recent events (ie: mongoose) have caused people to go out hunting at a rate that seems a little to anxious to me. People are getting questioned left and right, I recently posted some of my 3d stuff and got a reply...
"In fact you should be a professoinal if you can model like that.
DON't get me wrong, but I almost doubt that."
ok fine, after what has happened people are quicker to question the authenticity of images, but when people start questioning people's work just cause it's good I think it might lead to those individual's not posting images as often. I for one come here to see the amazing work on display and would hate to see artwork posts decline because people don't want to deal with the crap that comes with posting. |

No offense failsafe, but it's posts just like this one that causes this type of behavior from the forum. People accusing people of ... whatever. People start to get defensive and they lash out on everyone else. I'm not saying that people are not doing the things that are being implied/accused, but who cares??
The way I think about it.. if I drew it, then I drew it. That is the only person I have to prove myself to.
Now can we please get back to posting topics that are atleast somewhat digital art related??
BTW your 3d stuff is awesome. I'd like to see what you can do on 2d.

I see your point, however I don't believe it is related to recent events, like the whole Mongoose thing...
The fact is those models are f'n cool, and I guess when some people see work of that calibre, their reaction is often one of denial (eg. they're too good, there's no way YOU did those).
However, I don't think that this is any reason for people to be reluctant to post. Your post proved, that with work like that, the number of positive posts outweighs the number of negative - therefore just ignore posts you don't like...

ON the other hand, when people post photorealistic stuff, it does, by definition, get very hard to know if it was actually painted or not, and seeing as 'the net' is full of rippers and so, I think being a little careful is a good thing.

Since it was my quote up there you wrote I have to reply too..
First I apologoize if you took my question personal.. After the "mongoose incident" it was somehow a very natural reaction to be more wary of whats posted.
* Since your pictures ARE awfully good
* You didnt mention that you are a professional modeller
* The marks on the lower right were blotted out
I think its natural that I wrote what I wrote.
Take it as a compliment that I (we) doubted the authencity of the pictures you did.

No offense, Chapel, but it's posts like yours that drag the shit even further, and it's posts like mine that stretch it to even mor unbelievable lengths.
That's why we have to stop! Silence is most often more indicative than all the words in the world... |

Sure.. say silence so I can't reply.
That's my one and only post on this subject.. except for the one about using "Random Musings" to post this crap.
