I really love those "quick faces" that Joachim and Micke have been posting so while chatting with Joachim on IRC this evening I decided to try one;

Drawn in a little over an hour. It's NOT a self portrait, just some guy in a magazine I had sitting next to me.

Row.

Holy sh** Batman, this is an amazing pic!

Especially when you did it "quick".

Critique: The cheeks seem somehow.. unsymmetrical, and the red color seems a bit off.

Anyway: VERRRY Cool!

Q: Did you draw and scan the outline or is it all PSP?

You go girl!!!

Hey Sumaleth - that's a pretty cool one! The colors around the lips look a teeny weeny little bit funky, but otherwise very sweet! And an hour of painting time is lightning fast!

!! damn. That's really awesome. For 1 hour ! ? the detail is great.

Though it kind of seemes like he was attacted by someone/something -- ironpipe maby ? .. ( as for his forehead and cheek that is. )

but it's great. really good.,

Really nice, Sumaleth!
I especially like the hair, and the eyes.
The colour around the eyes are really nice
I agree with Nex that the cheek on the
left looks a bit rounder on the side were the bright light comes in than the other.
but besides from that it looks fine Can't wait for your next post!

Interesting comments about the cheeks! I hadn't noticed their unsymetrical nature until it was pointed out but I actually just did what I saw on the photo. Looking at the original photo again, it actually does kinda have that same look.

Nex: the red was intentional! The image was blocked out in Photoshop (no outline stage).

Lajun: he does look a bit beaten up but thats just a result of working fast and not smoothing things out .

Chapel: NICE PICKUP! It was indeed from an article about Angel in SFX magazine. I didn't think I got the likeness close enough to be recognisable so it's good to know there's at least something there that must be familar.

Suma.
