If people keep editing their posts, there will be an over abundance of "edited post" text cluttering it all up.....this could get very annoying.

Though it's a pain in the bum, what's necessary to rectify this problem is to delete that text (which is actually *inserted* into an edited post). If this is done, there will always only be 1 of it at the bottom of any given person's post.
