Hi! Ive just bought a Wacom Graphire pen, and tried out my skills -but one thing came to mind when making a couple of new images: is there an easy way to make hair look more realistic when using ie. Photoshop? A sort of plug-in or something? Anyway, heres my newest addition of images:
-btw: The Graphire is great! The active area is small, but so is the price! A great introduction to pen-tools.

just wanted to say that i find the sword in the second pic a little bit out of place.. i think it could be better without it, seems like the girl is wearing a nightgown.. now who would wear that and carry a samurai along? :P
btw.. the moon and grass are nice |

I really like the picture of the sullen girl!
Really nice figure work/lighting/technique.
How much time did you spend on it?
I guess she's sad because she lost her bra? :P
Oh.. just one comment, her feet seem awfully small!

pentanke.jpg: nice drawing technique,
0 points for originality though, which
is kinda important cause copying off
other peeps work isn't very creative.

Hi again!
You asked how I did the shading, and the answer is the dodge and burn tool. demonpul.jpg (norwegian for demon f***...) is made with a background that's made by smearing red, orange and yellow airbrush-strokes, and then filtered with splatter-brushstrokes, this makes a fine effect for distant, huge flames with heat-bluring ...I guess. The shading of the girl and the demon was done by using dodge for highlight and burn for shadows, set for midtones. I'm a bit colorblind, so the result was rather interesting. pentanke.jpg was made pretty much the same way, with extensive use of smudging.
I did'nt use that much time with these. Honestly. The use of a pen speeds up the prosess. -Hey, but keep in mind that I'm an amature. I've haven't learned this at any school or something, eventhough I'm a student of architecture. I'm selftought. The fact that I may have been a special post in my primary school's budget because of my huge consumption of drawingbooks and paper, may have something to do with my socalled talent. -But I have a lot to learn. |

I just took the time to check out the link you posted, Adamantine.... -What's the matter with you anyway? You sick, sick person! Spending all that time making that image just to prove a fact that I've already agreed to have done? Keep in mind that all I did was to try out my new pentool. I was experimenting with retouching photos and existing images, and you thought I was trying to exploit the work of a wellknown artist? Get a life!

his post may have been a bit harsh but the fact remains that people on this forum are
ruthless when it comes to credit given to artists, so if an image you've done is that close to another, it's better to say it up front, then people usually won't have a problem with it. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

if you deliberatly copy off someone elses work, then at least state so. like if someone else except me hasnt seen the other artists work they are gonna think your is great, but you didnt do all the effort, thats what im saying. and i spent about 2-3 mins on making ripoff.jpg if your wondering. |
