OK here is the deal. I am a very laidback person. I tend to do things on my own time and don't give a shit how most people think I work. But there is a very fine line between my carefree attitude and my extreme admiration for being lazy. Just wondering if its just me or do you guys(and ladies) have this problem? When I get really good Ideas I go to a computer or pull out a sketch pad and then...POOF! the Idea stinks...and so begins my Carefree time("lazy time" as I like to call it) . hmmmm. Allot of the time its just lack of motivation. Sorry about this stupid post but I am just in a really bad mood right now.

hmmm ... don't take this the wrong way when I say:
"Get off your lazy ass and paint!"
If you have the desire to paint - go for it and be a little bit hard on yourself - don't dismiss ideas too early - jump at them and don't loosen your grip like a pitbull ... and you'll see, once you're over that hump a lot of things will run easier ... don't give up. |

I think I'm also quite lazy (in my own way). I often start new images, say, 2 per week, but only 1 out of a 50 might get a chance at being somewhere near 'finished' -- I don't want to spend the time finishing a mediocre image.
The worse thing I often do is that I'll see a flaw in my image, and just skip and not fix it cause I'm too lazy. Then the final image just gets me so annoyed, seeing only the flaws; after a while I can't even look at it anymore.
It's funny how I use to spend over 12 hours per crappy 256-color pixeled image a few years back, and now I can't even bother finishing anything, even though it takes me half that time to have over twice as much quality.
I guess I just take too much pleasure in sketching and laying out ideas and colors -- detailing is such a second thought to me now. IMO, what counts most is the basic shapes, mood and colors... details can be added in very minute portions in needed areas, or faked using approximative diffused RGB for those details.
Damn. I wish my name was Craig...
