A while ago, they had an informal art contest on Elfwood, to see who could design the baddest jedi/sith character, and I though it might be a fun thing for this forum. After we get a bunch of posts, we could vote for the best(s). In any case, here's the beginning of my entry. It's just a face shot now, until I could get the rest of the body colored in.

Finally finished with my sith. Done completely on Photoshop, at 375 dpi, from a 5 minute, scanned, rough pencil sketch. Took about 16 hours, spread between 3 nights.
screen fit version:

big version:

Please leave me some feedback! And I do realize that the halo effect kinda sucks. I'll have to change that later.

Thanks, Fallen.
That was my first "leather" catsuit...heheh. It was a #itch to color too. A lot of trial and error (especially the little trims). I probably screwed up the lighting all to hell, but I think I can do better next time.
By the way, dig your URL also. I think there's another guy out there with the same title for his website as mine. That sucks, but I got the URL! heehee! Besides, Sin is my last name...

I very much like your site design, too, Xcal. The red and black are very strong. You like Samurai Showdown? Is that snow a java script? For my upcoming site design, I animated snow falling... but a script would update soooo much faster! *puppy-dog eyes*
heh. Nice work.

Thanks, Kurisu. I'm not a big Samurai Showdown fan, but I'm into martial arts and Asian culture in general (among other cultures). The site is due for a redesign. I probably will stick to the color scheme, but I'm planning on adding better graphics.
The snow is a Java applet. You can get one just like it for free here:
http://www.demon.co.uk/davidg/spigots.htm
David Griffith also has some other kickass java applets on that website.

Ah yes, that one. Well faust, I suppose 'reverend sin' would've gotten himself a domain name a looong time ago if he really really wanted to be known as 'artofsin'. As for me, I didn't know that site existed before I got my domain name, if I did I probably would've opted for another name just to avoid confusion, but oh well. Besides, I think our art are worlds apart in terms of intended audience, so confusion is a small matter (I don't do Giger), I think. It is probably only people like you who will have a problem with the issue, in which case I won't lose too much sleep over it. My site is for sci-fi, fantasy, and comic book art fans, not quake skinners, HRGiger fanatics, etc.
SightX: That's the only one for now, but I want to do one of Perrin and maybe another character in the future, as time permits.

people like me? elaborate, then drop it right there. caustic tones aren't popular around here. after all, i doubt you want the same kind of reputation i have. and i don't mean that in a good sense.
and don't you dare to call me a skinner. i did one q3a skin, the first one will be the last one. plus the difference between being a fanatic and a fan should be noted. i'm only a fan. and again, not in the sense of fan that is linked to the sort of personality who covers his walls inch by inch with giger's work, walks in giger clothes, uses a penis shaped zippo and so forth.
out.

Hey Faust, no need to take offense. What are you so highly combustable for? And what's wrong with being a skinner? Skinning 3d models is hard work, man. I know quite a few of them. Also, when I said "people like you", I was referring to people like you who judge a website's quality and originality based on the fact that there's some other guy out there who happened to slap the title onto his website first. There ya go. As for the HRGiger issue, fanatic or not, you're the one goin code red over the issue. Frankly, I don't care whether you think Giger sucks or worship him. I'm not making any judgments on what "personalities" Giger fans have, but just noted that my site doesn't cater to people with that sort of taste in art. Different strokes for different folks. Bottom line, if you want to judge my work based on the fact that 'reverend sin' had his 'title' first, feel free to avoid my work. If not, then more power to ya.
XCAL
ps. this will be my last post regarding this issue. This thread isn't about my website.

Hey Faust, if you're gonna open your mouth and post simply that someones url "bugs" you, than expect that person to tell you what "bugs" them.
