I was just wondering when you guys feel most creative? Do you create your art in the day or at night? I always feel most creative at night and rarely go to bed before 2 am.

Ditto. I'm 4+ hours later than the 'normal' world... I lose track of time when creating. I forget to eat, too.

Yeah... I'm a night guy too... the darkness inspires me + it's the only time I can get some nice quiet quality time.
And that really sucks when you got to go to work in the morning...

I usually start cranking at the midnight hour, but I'm most creative during a good rain storm.. it helps me brainstorm. (sorry, had to do it)

Well, I create the best when I drive, so I always need to have a pen and paper. The problem, is that is dangerous for my driving life!!! Maybe one day I recreate a car in my place to safely create!

actually cause i chat with americans and like want to talk to them when they are online at whatever. and i dont like disturbace by any creatures, thats annoying. and if i get up to early and open my window, i cant see anything cause of the sun. and i like it quiet, and night is quiet. so i usually(but dont anymore cause my parents get insane) get up(here goes!) 10-12 later =) go up when its dark, go to bed when its bright. which doesnt work so good with school, so ive stopped that now=) so im not very creative or whatever......

I'm creative whenever. doesn't matter. I just start creating whenever I hit my psychic disturbance and start twitching...

Freakin A! Now I'm gonna sound like a friggin conformist.
Day Bad, Night Good
The day: School, tired and can't think, track practice, noisy, sun
The night: Quiet, dark, creative peaking occurs, no sun, quiet, no parents nagging, quiet, no sun.
For some reason, after the clock chimes 12 times I am no longer sleepy and can only think of drawing and writing.

And now a dissenting opinion. I usually feel most creative sometime during the afternoon and into early evening. This is mostly because this is when I have idle time. After this time, I'm out wreaking havoc, and before I'm bust with school and whatever else is bothering me at the moment. I used to be able to live on two to four hours of sleep a night, but just can't do it anymore.

Ah, yes.. nighttime. So I'm not the only one who enjoys the dark with a passion? Most of my ideas come from times where my mind isn't thinking about anything at all but existing, really, which is around 12ish, or when I can't go to sleep. I'll have to agree with Chapel about the rain. I LOVE RAINSTORMS!! Some of my creative anergy comes simply when I'm sitting with a pencil and a (sacred) blank piece of paper. If anything comes to mind, It tends to find its way to paper I never have the opportunity to safely draw till 4 in the morning anymore though. By safely I mean getting enough sleep to be able to keep my eyes open during school, which is helpful.
During the day I usually work on ideas generated at night, or on artwork that basically only takes pencil strokes (or wacom strokes or whatever), and technical skills, not new ideas. It balances out quite nicely, generating ideas duing the night and working on them during the day.

Well folks, not all of us go to school...

I usually work on my art at night after I get home from my day job (which pays for things like food and shelter). Consequently I'm always a bit tired when I'm doing art.

So on my days off, I get to make art during the day, and I notice a BIG difference in my productivity. I have more energy and am able to plan projects more efficiently.

So basically, day or night doesn't matter, just energy, time, space, and control over those things.
