I struggle the most with lighting and shadows in my drawings. Does anyone have any tips that can help or suggestions on references I could use?

Shading 101, Lighting 101: get them note books out and a magizen with PEN and Pencil.

For Shading Help:
Using just One Pencil (No2 works good and also for finer detail Then "CLICKY PENCILS" work good its like 0.5 and for fineeeee fineeee finee detailing get the Lowest 0.X you can.)
Ok get a Magzien that you stole from the Auto Body shop? good lets continue, Find a Image that you like to draw (It really help grate deal if you find a black and white iamge, if not then Color will do, but get a black and white image!!) YOU DONT WANT TO OUT LINE THIS like a little kid. Make Lighty toching the paper make a "sketch". try not to make a line there its Real white.

Ok you barley see the Sketch on the paper? Good now start with the Lights Lights Shade of Gray and move to Dark. Go back with the Eraser and Make HIGHLIGHTS for the WHITE WHITE areas or maybe erase some of that outline around the image?

For Learning Lighting Wows that is a mess but just to get a start of it. Do some live study sketches as in getting an APPEL or GRAPES (Strong sunlight is a +++ for learning the lighting fx's) so try doing some LIVE STUDY sketching.

That is about it, I am no art teacher, I tell that from my Learning.
