damn this stupid shit... there's a difference between using reference, and actually taking someone's image and passing it off as u'r own. Dhab, if u'r reading this, i really think u should do something about this. i have a high respect for u'r art (along with any other devoted arist like u'rself), and it just pisses me off when i see this stuff happen. btw, do u copyright u'r pics?

I went to that link, and was expecting to see a pic BASED on Dhab's, or maybe heavily altered... but what I get is some text and two red dots. WTF? I can imagine (not approve of, but imagine) ripping something if you have a niggling idea that just won't go away, but that's just RETARDED! He makes it look like SH*T! I mean, jeez! I it appears that he even took the picture from the gallery, and cropped/stretched it, then added those damn ugly eyes... you can real once to the sides....(of the red crap)

I think what is appropriate is to find out 'who' it is. Then spread the word.

Would you want to be an employer and accidentally hire someone like that? Once someone is hired, it can be very difficult to get rid of them...

I think we owe ourselves the favor, let alone anyone else.

Ok.. not really. I read the first post and saw the site. I was going to display my disgust. But then saw that everybody else had done it for me. So I did something stupid instead. Anyway, it really is quite hideous. Both the morals behind it and the fact that it's pretty much the destruction of an art piece. (Talking about the mangled pic now)

I don't really think the concerns about him being hired are valid. Who the hell would hire him anyway? I don't think he'd be looking for an art job anyway, obivously knows he's crap else he wouldn't steal others work.

well, it looks like the guy is just a kid who doesn't know better. he's not gettin any money by doing what he is doing. nor is he getting fame. or anything else... i can see why Dhabih is being cool about this.
now if it was someone using other's artwork for $$, attention, etc. that would be a bit different.
i'm not saying that it's right.. i'm just saying it's not as serious.
it's still a ripoff tho.

A mate of mine ripped off my work once. He entered it in a school exhibition passed it off as his own and won something outta it. Some money and books or something. I never saw any of the money. Only found out coz one of my other mates went to the same school and saw it there.

Oh well. Some people are like that.
Even when I confronted him and got him to own up, he still lied about the prizes he recieved, sayin they were for something else.
