This Question goes to everyone older then 18 that have been drawing for loooooong time.
I am wondering what you all Draw, and why you draw what you draw?
Let me tell you about my why I draw what I draw.
When I was young, I always drew Super hero's and cartoon faces because I always watched TV.
Then in High School I went into Realist painting because I love putting in details in my work. In addition, more of Fantasy art, as in Dragons, and Animals, monsters etc.
Because of all TV, I washed as a kid.
Now I am out of high school doing Digital art and Hand Art... I do web designing because I like the challenges to come up with different type of layout.
So, do you draw what you Draw because you draw?

interesting...
I started drawing in the first class, was in boarding schools for some years, so no toys, no TV.
As i was out there i started reading comics (F4, Hulk, Conan, etc...) and using them as reference =
The artists of the '80 influenced my style the most, John Byrne, Sal Buscema, George Perez, they have a rather proportioned not-that-exagerated-dynamic style, unlike the actual artists.
I'm a great fan of Capullo, McFarlane, Lee, sadly, my style seems to be mostly fixed to the conservative look of the '80.
I draw for food and it's a cheap hobby too

Ive been drawing female anime characters for the last 7 or 8 years (2 years digital) I started after seeing my first anime art in a game magazine. Iv never really been inspired by any one artist but by the general style, until now. After seeing Dhabihs work and more by Danny Iv started shift more to realism while maintaining some anime features such as the eyes and general face structure. I can only hope that my work will someday match the quality that both Danny and Dhabih have achieved.
(Of course I will not reveal the primary reason I started drawing only women)

I started drawing everything I could get my hands on when I was 6. When I was 7 or so, I started trying to draw faces. By the time I was 8 I started drawing portraits of people, side view only. Did that for a couple of years. All through the rest of elementary school I just didn't stop drawing. Everything and anything. I actually got detention for drawing in class while I should of been working on something else.
In junior high I took art classes and got better at my techniques. Got pretty darn good at drawing and painting.
Then came highschool. Took an art class the first year, took some photography classes the following years, took nothing my senior year. Most of my art skills had vanished by then due to lack of use. I was good at the pencil art I did, and pointalism, but I hadn't really progressed much in my artistic ability during those years. I was soul searching, finding out who I was, and who I am, and actively challenging myself to make myself a better, more social person. I now dress well, and can talk to people, but I can't draw as well as I could. That's changing though as I'm taking art classes now and really working on getting better.
I mostly draw people, more sureal type stuff than cartoony or realistic. Most of it is extremely bizarre, or a visual representation of how I felt at the time I drew it. submit, oddman4, and The Crying Man are some of my favorite drawings I've done, and all three were done when I was extremely depressed. I did most of my artwork when I was dressed actually. I don't suffer from extreme depression anymore, so I don't draw as much.
Oh, and I'm currently 18.

I'm 23. now i draw whatever comes in my mind.
Maybe that's why my motives have a tendency to have some wierd content in it.
Most of my motives are people , i guess.
When i was younger i did super-heroes, comics, Starwars drawings and such like.
There is only one thing that i don't like to do: Naked ladies (or barbarians)with dragons and skulls. I've done it, but i just
got tired of it. Brrrrrr....

i was drawing since a kis so here goes:
kidergarten: uhh, too young to remember,
grade school: always drew these battle scenes w/ medieval knights etc etc. influenced from some picture books. -- at school in art class drew/paited trees&,ladscape stuff. whatever the teacher thought was nice.
middle school: got lazy, only drew in art classes, abstract stuff.
high school: lazy again, only drew in art classes, learn perspective, different mediums, ladscapes, animals...
here i think i also started drawing comic book stuff, (was pretty bad tho)
college: ugh, now i have no spare time, study architecture, perspectives, isometrics, balgh..
i still do not have a developed drawing technique.
now: digital art provides the inspiration. thanks to this board. *hugs everyone*
spring break, time to finish my paining...
