Hi!
This is my first post since my friend, Joachim was kind enough to tell me about this place;-)
I tried out painter last week, and among things made a portrait of my wife
(I think I inspired Joachim to paint his girlfriend, correct me if I`m wrong, and btw. ...WOW.. awsome work dude!!!)
Since there`s no direct link to the portrait, you`ll have to go to my site:

Oh darn, Veb. I had to go all the way to your site...
Very impressive! Nice colors and forms.
Do you find that you approach digital painting very differently from traditional painting (aside from your shoulder ache, and all ;P)?
Welcome to the forum, by the way

Yes, I do approach it differently. When working with traditional media, like oils, I plan everything much more, and always start with the backgrounds.
When working digitally I start with the characters, and just have a rough layout on how the final result since you can more or less change everything when working on the computer. If you don`t plan things well when using oils or acrylics, you`re pretty screwed if your composition is off;-)Or your character is to short etc....

Very very nice.
That portrait is the best painting on your website, in my humble opinion.
Looking forward to see more..

Welcome Vebjorn! As I was looking at your work I noticed that you are a fan of Boris Vallejo? yes? Same style and all. I may be wrong, but if you have never heard of him you should take a look at some of his work, I think you would very much like it.

Sure..I`ve heard of him;-) I have seen most of his work I think. I like his style. Not up there with Frazetta or Rembrandt, but for commercial fantasy art, one can`t deny his art sells.
But the publishers like this style since it sells. Yep ..sellout (or "popmusic art" as I like to call it) As an magazine editor once told me: "15year old kids don`t like brushmarks or canvas textures, smoother the better"...arrgh.
But for my own projects I like to go a bit more arty farty, like the portrait. Since I then "only" had to please my wife and no art directors or magazine editors.
