I just tried painter yesterday, for the first time. Wow, that program really rulez! It was such a great fun just playing around in it.
I painted this out from a photo reference of my girlfriend. This image is very rough though, but to paint it was just an hour of pure fun.
Don't ask my why I post it, but it's just nice to contribute with stuff to keep this forum as active as possible
cheers

I love it! I like the rough style, this way the lighting is more accentuated. The background looks a little too rough compared to your lovely girlfriend, but I'm sure that has to do with the depth of view. Anyway, great stuff, I think I'll give painter a try ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Great image Joachim...
I really love digital portraits, including this one! I particularly like the way you've captured the styles of both the Renaissence (composition/subject) and Impressionism (unusual shading) eras. Looks really cool and quite original (for digiart, at least)
I dont know how many others will agree as there seems to be more than a slight bias towards "smooth" shading around here
Look farward to your next portrait m8

Yum, looks like a gouache painting (especially on the shoulder and neck), how nice I actually prefer seeing unfinished or esoteric stuff here rather than superpolished megapix, you can get some fascinating insights into how other artists work. There are better places to release finished work after all...

very nice! both - subject and painting
as for the background - it's fine - it's coherent with the overaall style of the image - if you would blur it, it'd stick out like a sore thumb. And the purpose of this painting is NOT to be hyperreal ( am I right Joachim), it's a lovely impressionistic study of light ... very difficult too ...
congrats Joachim! Love it!
now, it would be interesting what master spooge would have to say ... |

that's one hell of a piece - reminds me of some work i have by Jack Vettriano.
it's certainly eye catching - congratulations on a fine piece of art.

Thx, I never expected so much nice feedback on this rough little "test-painting"..-makes me very happy
Still, you are all always welcome to say stuff like: "nah, don't like it"...(I won't tell it to my girlfriend, hehe )
Thx again!

Haham, I didn't think I would see that fatass Danny here (hehe, dude ,hope you don't mind)
Joachim, what to say.
Nice, rough, its like a 1st impulse =)
THATS what I like.
Altho I do VERY polished stuff (I think digital art can't go further) this one reminds of something you would do with a crayon or something.

BTW. Uploaded my site with some drawings. www.3dpalette.com/peaeye |
