so far all of my messages have been in reply, so people may be missing some of the images i post. here's a scaled down version of an image that i'm working on right now. i'm just getting into hirez digital work, so i've been experimenting at getting different styles of painting. obviously, this still needs a background.
to get this, i drew the picture in pencil, scanned it in, colored it flatly in photoshop (coloring-book style) and then took it into painter, and reworked most of it with the rough out, dry ink, oil paint, and wet sable brushes.
as far as the background, what i have planned is the corner of a wall that he's just barely hiding behind (hence the pose) and something exciting happening beyond the corner. perhaps an explosion? not sure.. |

Hennny Penny.. Looks cool so far. Ive noticed some of your work has a sorta watercolor/marker sort of effect, what kind of brushes do you use in PS mostly? the paintbrush with a stepped fade or just the airbrush and some smudging? I like the image so far, is the final going to be kinda "sloppy" like this one or are you going to clean up the outline a bit? I kinda like how the colors spill out and around in places, not too common for all us anal retentive color wirhin the lines computer artists

did you use mouse or wacom/tablet ?
oh...and maybe you could put a more scared or
angry facial expression on the character
if there are going to be explosions...
do you think he'd really be happy / smiling?
i like it, want to see more
and the final work!

Hey, I like it. I like the very loose and confident feeling of the picture. The nose looks a little awkward, but the hands are stunning. |
