I know most of you spend a lot of time on the computer like myself and recently I've been experiencing floaters in my eyes. For those of you who don't know what floaters are, they are threads of light that pass through your eye. I'm only 16 and it has been increasing since last week. I'm gonna try starting today to stay away from the computer, and will be seeing an eye doctor soon. I usually don't worry about stuff like this but when it comes to my eyes I'm all busineess, cause that is probably the most important thing to me cause I wanna be an artist. Just wanted to throw this topic in here any comments, suggestions, related stories would be cool. |

When I sit infront of the computer too long, nails fly out of the screen and shoot through my pupils. I went to a doctor, and he told me to get rid of my computer. So I don't go to him any more.
Now the computer mostly just hisses at me, and says stuff in a language I don't understand. i guess thats sort of different though.
Well, i gotta go now, its about to shoot more nails... |

Well I never heard of a computer screen causing floaters. I have never had them...but seeing an eye docter is a good idea.
quote: The retina can tear if the shrinking vitreous gel pulls away from the wall of the eye. This sometimes causes a small amount of bleeding in the eye that may appear as new floaters. A torn retina is always a serious problem, since it can lead to a retinal detachment. You should see your ophthalmologist as soon as possible if:
Even one new floater appears suddenly;
You see sudden flashes of light.
If you notice other symptoms, like the loss of side vision, you should return to your ophthalmologist.
That is a quote from [URL= Eyenet

Define floaters. The weirdest thing my eyes ever occasionally have are tiny streaks of moving lights.. Something like fireworks that you only pick up with averted version.
I'd say you should either sit farther back or get a better video card.

Floaters are a normal phenomenon, some people have more of them , some less. |

Actually, the so called "floaters" are remants of a membrane that everyone had covering their developing eyes while they were all still in Momma's womb. I'm not sure of the scientific name of them, but I remember reading this somewhere. If it's really bothering you tho, definitely have your eyes checked out. Night.
