I am seeing more and more people complaining about Spam that I would assume that would mean to put more forums up. I mean Digi posters are coming over here now and posting about spamming over on the Digi forums..! heh

Anyway, maybe 2 isn't enough anymore, I would take a poll to see what other new ones could be added..like "Digi Newbies", "Digi Occupations" lots of education and job postings I see more and more often...etc...

I don't believe it's possible to do a multiple forums setup, unless moderators are employed. OR some very refined code is used.

At least not if the purpose is to avoid off topic spamming.

Instead of having the talented people leave the forum and basically have it in a state of chaos, we need to get it in order while there is time.

On the subject of moderators. There is no way around it. The forum is too big, and there are too many people posting where they shouldn't.
A little OT is ok, but not when it happens all the time by everyone.

Moderators would be there to ONLY move OT stuff unto the appropriate boards.

The big question is whether to make a 'beginner' and 'pro' board, or make several boards concentrating on various subjects but open to everyone.

Probably the latter thing is best. It would also make it easier on moderators moving stuff around.

Getting the pressure off the main board and distributed into other appropriate boards is the main priority right now.

If not, the Sijun.com forum will drown in its own success.

My suggestions for boards are:

Digital Art
Traditional Media
3d Art
Random musings

Each board will have a subsection board labelled 'Lessons' (or tutorials, etc) for whenever people start online lessons.

This will keep the lessons from being drowned off the main board. Especially since online classes often run for extended periods of time with varying amounts of postings at different times.

Finally, there should be an extra board for complaints over moderators, which only dhabih has moderation right on.
I don't see the big need for it though, since moderators would have no delete rights but only access to move stuff around.

(I don't know how the UBB system works, but IF it's impossible to be a moderator without having delete rights, then this board would be a safety vent. Both to make people feel secure and also to keep moderators from abusing their powers.)

I'm very interested in hearing more opinions and ideas.

Dhabih has already asked whether he should add more forums and the general reaction was that it wasn't necessary and we didn't need one. So I think that the subject has disappeared mostly.

Back when he asked it, there wasn't a need, but now everyone is complaining about spam and useless posts..so maybe we can address the need again.

I think multiple Moderators would be a good idea, I mean Dhabih can't be here all the time, and there are just too many now posting (on the digi side anyway )
