Nice to see this forum going back to a more friendly atmosphere after some silly flamewars. Anyway, I thought I'd like to post a new image, so here's one I did a couple of weeks ago. It's made for a friend but I hope he won't kick my ass for showing this pic to you

Wow, your colour choices are always so brilliant! I love your sorta abstract, but not completely style It leaves it open to interpretation, which is very cool.
And composition is flawless. Great work!

Thanks a lot! I got started doing this more abstract stuff not long ago and it's felt refreshing really. For this one I wanted to blend some elements of painting, graphic design and calligraphy, I don't know if that comes across in the finished work or not.

I love it. Maybe I'm just too literal, but it looks like stone peeking through snow.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but that's not very abstract, is it? |

Dude that's cool, it makes you think stone - but fools you into thinking maybe it's not. You're gonna make my brain explode!
Where was it used?

It's not used anywhere yet, but maybe in a demo or something in the future. And yeah, it definitely looks like rocks and snow to me too... It just turned that way I guess, I didn't have anything particular in mind when I started (which is the fun thing about this kind of images, you don't need serious preplanning and can take it very easy)

lovely pic Saf!
Just one thing guys...quit tittle-tatting about what it is and isnt. It has great balance, composition and, above all, it's just plane pleasing to the eye.
doesn't really matter "what" it is. Not for this kind of image anyhow

I have never been a fan of abstract art, but for some reason, I like this a lot... by the way, did you do this photoshop or painter.
Very nice! |
