I'll never get over Marathon...
Before I get too far on this piece (actual piece is much bigger), I wanted to get some feedback from y'all, especially on composition, lighting, movement, and illusory space. Or let me know if anything else looks really weird:
Thanks

Hi
I like it. The only thing that bothers me is the needless (to my eyes) space on the top and bottom side of the characters. If you cropped more tightly the monster would fill the whole pic vertically, making it look a lot bigger and more scary.

Good start. I like the projectile trail.
Just one problem. The gun seems a little too small to be able to shoot out a rocket. |

i think the compositon needs balance. the characters are on the left and nothing really balancing the picture. the monster is also looking lower-left, further inclining the composition to the left

you can ignore my 'critique' 'cause i'm not always right |

I see your points Ferrozuka, 4s. And thanks for the image suggestion Leo; I may steal some ideas from your rendering if that's okay? Here's a crop of my image; the cropping may help with the balance too. I see how the image weights to the left, but I've indicated how I see the movement to flow. I've imagined in my eye that the fusion pistol blasts (oh where are you true Marathon fans?) on the right balance the action on the left. Do you think this works?

Just a quick art lesson about composition. Try and use the rule of thirds. It will make your image look much better...
Looky here at the pic;
if you try and put the two faces near the crossections of the lines, you will already have a better picture. I think most people have noticed that there's something wrong with the placement, and I think this is the best way to fix it...Just my two cents... it looks good btw.

Hey, how about adding one more dude with the gun at the right? This may helps for the balance, i think. And of course you can take ideas from my so-called 'rendering' =).
akh: image dosen't shown up ...

akh,
yes, I see what you're saying, and I usually try to follow the rule of thirds, but rules like that are meant to be broken
Let me just be clear on something:
Leo's image was not done by me. It is a copy (or modification) of my image. I appreciate his suggestion, but my image is technically copyrighted, so let's not make a habit of this.
Thanks for all the suggstions folks. It's been extremely helpful to have some 3rd party input.
