I find it funny how you just brush your idiocy aside as if it doesn't exist.

What is this "Jay Leno" shit, anyway? I look nothing like Jay Leno is that is what you are inferring.

... Ass-for-a-face.

I like his new picture, although it is kind of depressing seeing a sad, lonely, fat, rock carving.

Hmmm...I like your thinking imdaking. In fact i like it a lot. I could do a feature on 3d palette every month or so, called grudge match or something. two artists (or more?) square off against each other. each produces a piece of digital art which is then voted upon by the viewers. Our hit count is high enough to insure that the voting cannot be influenced to a large degree and thus the true winner is decided. A peoples champion no less...
heh heh, how about it mongoose and pysch? or are u chicken? heh heh

They could maybe start up a netmeeting conference and share their photoshop so people could watch them.

One net meeting conference for each artist. And as many people as want to, and one judge. Can watch them paint the picture.

The only problem with that is, that I'm not exactly the best digital painter on the planet. Most of my stuff is hand-drawn, or logo/web designs.

I'm a graphic design artist, not a digital painter (as you can see by my webpage.) But I'm still quite sure I could kick this newbie's ass. Whatever you guys decide, count me in.

You'll have to give them a subject anyhow, unless planning isn't considered a part of making the image (And it certainly should be), so there's no need for netmeeting or anything. Just give it to them over IRC or something, so you'll know when they started.

Hmm, well i'm not too keen on the one hour thing. Besides all the organization that will have to go into making it work, its really not a fair setting. I think most people like to take their time on pictures (me included.) My idea would be that once both parties have signed on to the plan, we give them a week to kick out some work, and then the voting would begin. So all we need is physch to sign on. Unless he's scared...

Yes... A contest with only one participant is a bit pointless, isn't it? :P

Hello everybody. Long time no see. Hi, Mongoose I was just think about you. Kenneth Scott replied after I mailed him about your work for ID and he said he is kinda scared for keeping his position.
Anyways, what I wanted to say that I challenge Mongoose for a duel. It doesn't need to be a digital painting it can be anything he wants.
And if I win he'll lick my feet, ok?
If he wins, you'll never see me again.
Thats all,
thanks you.

Ermmm.. no I don't accept.

Derpunkt is WAY better than me. I have stated this several times, I don't want to go up against someone I will certainly lose to. The only reason I agreed to "duel" with Pysch was because he was just some newbie running his mouth without any art to back it up.

Derpunkt is a proven artist, we've all seen his stuff, and quite frankly it kicks the shit out of anything I can create. The only thing I think I would have a chance at would be a character sketch.. but that's kinda lame and has nothing to do with digital art.

Soooo, I am sorry, but I'm not in the mood to have my ego crushed at the moment, so I will not accept the challenge. I would however be very interested in seeing Derpunkt compete against someone more on his level.. like Danny.. or Acryl.. or someone like that. I don't compare.

Mongoose.

An Art duel?!
How the heck would you do that?
More to the point, why would you do that?
Seems pointless to me, and needlessly competitive.
Why not have them do a cooperative piece instead. That would be a greater challenge for both of them, and more educational too. Or do an exquisite corpse.
Seems like in a lot of the professional business these days, there is an emphasis on "teamwork" rather than "kick the other guy's ass." If you can't work well with others, no one will want you on their team.

So, give them an art problem to solve together. They'll probably come up with a stronger piece together (both conceptually and technically) than either would have alone.

Pigeon, dP is a wrong person for the teamwork. Just read his older posts/replies to learn more about him. He will never trust or respect Mon, so what are you talking about?

Well, there is no honour to fight with the newbie for you, dP. So how about duel with the guys say... from ILM (Craig Mullins for example)? ...feeling better eh?

And remember guys, creative ideas and imagination are your main weapon!

I think rather than just having two people work on an image, it should be a whole forum ordeal,. get a list of people willing to participate, pick some sort of drawing order <my suggestion would be from best to worst, then back to best> or something like that, and each person has one day to add to the image, then post it, and the next person starts from there,.. in the end it should look almost nothing like what it started to look like,. or so i would assume,.

Mongoose, I must say you suprised me. I was expecting flames, but your post was really mature. Therefore, I am willing to bury the war axe, and make our relations more proffesional.
Why I actually chalenged you, was the fact I've seen some VERY good stuff on your page. I was really thrilled with that logo you did for LOFR (or something) and with Ferrari & Lamborghini.
Now I actually feel it was a stupid thing to ask you for a duel, since I am very busy with a college project I am working on, and I doubt my submission would be top notch.
There, I hope this clears any doubts me hating you or vice versa.

Leo, after your "incredible" comment on that picture, there is really nothing I need to say about you. Yes, I overreacted a bit, but I don't feel bad about it.
And if someone from ILM challenged me, I would personally take that as a compliment. If I would lose, I could always say: "Yeah, a guy from ILM beat me. Atleast I tried". <Mongoose, I am not implying anything, and I don't feel you are chicken or something>
Thats about it,
dP

Hey dp,

Yes, I agree that it would be a great idea to forget about all this shit between us. I say that we focus on creating cool artwork for the masses to look at, and offer CONSTRUCTIVE help along the way. Sound good to you? And everyone else?

I am going to lay off my insults, and just not post at all if my response is going to be negative in nature. I think that would be a good philosophy for the majority of this board, actually. People come here from all over the place to hang with some of the best digital artists in the WORLD, I think we should make it a comfortable and friendly place for everyone that asks for our help. Everyone agree? Or am I soundin' like a big sap?

Btw, thanks for all the compliments on my stuff Derpunkt!

Oh, we all already know you're just a big sap anyway...I think that's the environment that Dhabih want's want's these boards to have anyway. And you do realize that we arn't supposed to talk about this stuff in this board, but in the other one that no one goes too. Does that make any sence to anyone else? Anyway, Mongoose - just kidding with the "sap" crack. Keep up the good work...Maybe Dhabih won't have to end any other topic's for us anymore...
BTW, Dhab THANK YOU!

Later.
