I think its a good topic. I'll explain for those that dont get it.
Artistic Trickery = Things you can do that are generally considered cool or mind-boggiling or give a WTF sense at the time or just make your eyes cross(kinda like when lense flare was first realized by action movie directors). All that or um "tricks of the trade" are usually things people dont think of to often as being within reasonal bounds of creation. we see them everyday. its always present, but when it is put infront of us we tend to take note of it more. if youve got examples of illusional or strange artwork of all mediums that can be slightly "trickey" to comprehend and get at first, post it!!!

NOTE: if all my sayings above seem a bit jumbled and clipped and i seem to be on all directions... its cause im just giving a open to a converation, not an opinion. so go at it and discuss, since we need more of that in this forum! =)

A way of idea catching can be from eating lots of carbohydrates late at night and drinking soda and goingto sleep on sleepypills, waking the next morning and drawing exactly whatever screwed up things you saw in your drugged up blood drained mind.

I don't know if it's 'trickery', but back when i was without a light-box, computer etc. and had to do many, many, MANY cartoons/logos/posters in ink I kind of developed a very chunky and broken style. Using big blocks of ink to represent a fixture or limb when they were completely unattached to the lines of the subject. But nearly everything in that style got lost in one of my moves.

That and making the defining lines of Background objects *thicker* than that of foreground objects placed directly in front of them (I will post a sketch when I get back home).

Good to see a constructive thread started up. Let's see a flamewar start from *THIS*! :P
