Dude, you might want to edit your message, the pic doesn't load. Just supply a URL...

I just noticed the Clouds filter in the back... Ugh.
Man, that is a really good pic, but it could definitely do without the filters. |

I gave you contructive criticism. I told you, it was a really good pic, but the filters kind of spoiled it. That's all. I THINK that's what Darkmoon was trying to say, too... |

Criticism:
1) Don't paint over pencil lines, ever, paint over ink.
2) Use a higher compression level when you save, you have too many "artifacts" (grained blurry spots) on your image.
3) Hair needs more detail, and the overall image could have done with comic coloring cutstyle as opposed to the painted style i see here, if you wanted to convey the true witchblade experience.
4) Don't use lens flares, I'm going to have to agree with the others there, especially since it's coming from basically no lightsource (ie: her hand)
Overall the proportions are good, but everything seems lost in the messiness of it all. A cleaner job would have made this look beautiful.

Dakkan.
It looks great, really. I would personally just refine and detail it, cleaning it up, and giving it some texture. Someone with more experience could probably help you more with the way the lighting affects the curves on her skin (maybe the gradient is too smooth and linear) -- but I'm not an expert on that particular topic.
I also think the lens-flare was a bad idea. =) Otherwise, the figure detaches itself nicely from the background without being a painful contrast. It's good. =))
cheers.

I don't really have a problem with filters, I say, if you can do something quicker with a filter and it's going to be just a good as if you did it by hand - go ahead and do it.
You could have sharpened it up a little, some it seems kinda off, I think that comes from panting over blured lines (such as the pencil). Good work...

P.S. - If you felt like you just had to use a lens flare (such as I do sometimes) you could have just applied it to the background so that it would look like there was a light source. Maybe comming from outside of the image. Later. |

damn, there's something wrong Darkmoon, hehe... demanding i redo it because i used a lenseflare!?! c'mon!!! don't u have something better to do with u'r time than post this immature message...? all i wanted was some feedback on the entire picture, not someone demanding i redo the whole picture because of your long lost love for sara. look, i'm asking nicely, pleeeeease can someone comment on the overall image, not the stupid lense flare. i constantly see other posts in which others are giving constructive critisizm, and helping out the artist... seeing these posts, i was hoping that someone might have been kind enough to actually say something worthwhile, which would help me, and others, with techniques or perhaps just pointing out the flaws (which i know are there). maybe i was just a wrong about this forum... |
