Hrmm.. well....
One thing dP... Maybe I can't draw fer shitn' beanz... but maybe I do have a book that has all the correct anatomy proprotins such as... Dynamic Figure Drawing.. Anatomy Lessons from the great masters etc. etc. Then if I saw that an arm was screwed up... I could look in the book and say HEY GOD DAMNIT! :P Your arm is messed up a lil... Try so and so and so... But wait.. I can't draw for pigeon shit.. so I guess that means my 20/20 vision can't tell what has been written in a book read by millions of artists the world over. I guess having a reference tool nearby but still not being able to draw still doesn't merit being able to critisize... Oh well :\
Also. I dunno if you guys kno it... or feel it rather... but Does it ever make u all warm and fuzzy inside when someone tells u.. DAM! THAT IS PHAT! or Holy GOD! JEZUS MOTHER OF MARY! THATS SO COOL?!?! Doesn't that make u feel all warm and fuzzy inside? It does fer' me

Hey, it's interesting to see a piece of history... our digi God - dP, have been offenced at all and moved from this board (maybe he read it only). And Jason disappear too...
I'm personally disagree, anyone can give a feedback! You just need to learn to take it rightly to catch positive moments. As Craig said, critics is an artist's life. Just think if you'll only see a feedback like: "wowowowow...ooooo....wow... ugh... it's so cooooool... you are my God..." and so on - you'll stop yourself development. Artist's life is a non-stop action. You'll never reach the end of your abilities. And critics helps to improve your skills... just learn to take it.

You know, one reason for the teachers treating the students in the way Spooge described might have been to weed out the people who weren't devoted enough, as there are usually plenty of applicants to a college, so losing some doesn't really harm them. Then again, they might have just been mean for the hell of it.

If you can't take a little bit of criticism, art isn't for you.

Oh, I'm still here, sorta. I dunno. I'm getting sick of the internet and heaps of stuff has been going on in life. I read up on the posts every few days........but I don't post too much. Maybe in the random musing forum sometimes. Anywayz, thanks for all the support everyone and even if you weren't taking sides, it's great to hear your opinions.
Well, enjoy life......... |
