Hello,
Well Im on Dhabi's site a few days ago, and I take a look at his gallery. I see this picture he had done from this "Fathom" comic strip. Suddenly I had the impulse to draw! Have to tell the truth. I did not think I could draw well. I've drawn before, but when I started to draw 2 days ago, it was like I had moved up a whole new level.
I have here an drawing I made last night. Im not planning to use Photoshop to color it, well because I dont have the skills to color in Photoshop with a mouse, uhum.. YET. =)
Tell me what do you think? This is like my first drawing in months.. ;p

Hey
I really like the eyes. Very beautiful.
As for the rest of the face, she looks real sad. The ear looks a bit odd, but other than that very good. Keep drawing, and be sure to post more of your work here.

Thanks alot!
I downloaded the original picture off the net at a Fathom website. Last time I copied a picture of something was about 3 years ago I believe. I think it was a picture of Bart Simpson. ;p
Anyways, the nice looking lady in the picture was originally sad.
_Coming soon_ another picture. : |

Hey, Not bad.
Only problem I have with it is:
Ear seems flat and not placed proportionaly on face. Neck is to small. Pupils are also to small.
Ofcourse no one said it was easy to position stuff accuratly. However I think you should try rough sketching of the whole picture first, and not one area at a time. (As it looks done here, correct me if I'm wrong)
Other then that nice picture.

Nice sketch
Though it does seem a bit dark below the eyes. Almost hungover/depressed or something. That could be the character though. Overall nice job though.

Seeing this picture from Fathom made me want to make one too
So here it is..
http://www.mediacom.it/~tanis/gfx/tns-fathom.jpg
My scanner did a real bad job on this one and I dunno why.. it looks all blurred even if it's been penciled and inked by hand.. any idea why this should happen ?

Kick ass man...
I had similar problems at first with my scanner too.. To solve the scanning problem you have to change the settings in your scanner software to scan the image and modify it to be brighter. Mess with the brightness and contract bar in your scanner acquire software... What scanner do you have? |

Since everybody talks about anatomy here, I
just thought I might add my thoughts too:
Ok, here we go...
The eyes/eyebrows are to high up in the
face, should be somewhere in the middle.
And to clarify the thing with the neck:
A good thing to think about is that the neck
goes behind the cheekbone and ends by the
ears (try and feel on youself ), so the
neck is actually quite broad. Another tips is
that the ear is often from the nosetip to the
eyes long (hard to explain, look at yourself
in the mirror).
And the forehead is to "small" to, but that
is probably due to the eyes being placed to
high. Everything else that's relevant have
been said I think.
Still, I think it looks very good indeed, for a start! And if I sound like an old gagging
bitch, it wasn't my meaning, I'm just trying
to share some things I been teatched in
class. But still, if so, I'm truly sorry.
My intentions are good
And your new mantra (as well as mine): Traning!
Draw everything you can think of, not just
the things you've done before (people tend to
fall back on what they already know how to
do, but that only hinders your development.
So watch out.
