I just started getting into drawing "digitally" but i'm having some problems. I have a wacom 6x8 and photoshop, which seems to be the standard in creating Dhabih-type pictures, but when i attempt to sketch freehand, it just looks all pixelated and retard-looking.
How do you people go about getting started? What image size/type of brush/brush size/resolution/etc/etc do you all use when first creating images? Dhabih's tutorial does not go over this, it just states how he starts with a blank image. |

Your asking for a solution here that can't be easily given. There's no standar 'recipe' to get good images. Sorry, but you'll have to do this yourself. Each one of the artists you admire more or less figured out their own way. And it takes time, time, time. Be patient and don't be discouraged if the first few images don't look all that great. Don't give up on an image to soon either. If it doesn't work, save it and get back to it later. Sometimes you might find that when you look at it again after weeks, you like the image and continue with it.
Now, to your specific question:
Pixellation - what resolution did you choose? When you work in 640x480 or less, your image might look a little bit pixely. Just choose a higher resolution (1024-1600 width for example).
That's pretty much all I can tell you - so, now sit down and paint til you fall off your chair - don't stop!
