Hi, I made up #digital-art channel up, there are bots which keep that channel up.
It's NOT efnet channel, you can access there by eg. following servers:
irc.funet.fi
irc.cs.hut.fi
irc.stealth.net
irc.webbernet.net
and maybe some others work also...check it out yourself.
This is way better than shit efnet servers, coz almost every good channels are NOT in efnet servers...
btw. join also to #pixel, it's art channel also.

Yeah, that's why i put a smiley.
the artscene has good and bad points. what I like about #digitalart, though is that (so far, at least) there's actually a lot of talk about ART. No one ever talks about art in #hirez. Everyone just argues about scene politics.

Well it seems we finally got to irc channels going: #digital-art on IRCNET and #digitalart on EFNET.
I thought in addition to those channels we could organize a weekly competition. The idea: someone maqkes up a theme. In a week everyone submits their entry. Doesn't have to be a masterpiece, since the main purpose is to establish a general feel of the picture.
For the pro's it would simply be a little more practice (1-3 hours a week), for the rest of us it would be a good way to learn for everyone else (since all the pics in one week will be about the same topic). |
