Actually, I've noticed a few females on this board. About 4 or 5. But they rarely post. Ones that I can think of off the top of my head are: Ryn, BONDGIRL, Nova, Nicole and you. There was someone else that scoop did a piccy of, but I can't remember her name cuz she's new.

I dunno. Maybe they just dismiss this forum becuase there aren't many girls here.
Well, do you have many female digi art or ever traditional artist friends? If you do get em to come here! People of the female sex are always welcome

That's why I was asking about it. I feel sooo alone, not that it matters. But I find it odd that 99% of the artists I meet are male and about 99.9% of the online digi artists and friends I make are male. What is happening to the female population here? Or do they just not like me in particular?

Just been thinking about this recently mostly because my boyfriend said something about it. Asked why all the people who I talk to or e-mail me are male? I had to in turn ask myself the same question. I came to the conclusion that the groups I am affiliated with are dominately male? Hmf... I'm dumb founded. Oh well, no matter.

No, not really. There are actually quite a lot of female anime/manga artists out there. I talked to Ryn once and she told me there are a lot of females out there. You're just looking in all the wrong places.
It's just that not many female artists are interested in this type of subject matter. (Quake, Unreal, gaming in general etc..)

They all like anime. That's where they're all hiding.

Well, I'm not a girl, but I enjoy them immensely

From what I can tell so far, almost every female I know that's into art, either does it as well as me, or better. I suppose once they're interested in something, they make sure they excel in it, and it's becoming more and more apparent everyday, as we see great female artists coming out of the digital woodwork

Just thought I'd add my little boost of encouragement to the digital women's movement, you're all a very welcome addition to the growing digital art scene

hrmm...most girls i know dont like doing much with computers except for Email and the once a week icq thing. but thats about it.

I know about 3 girls that will sit down next to me with a pc<->pc connection for 3 days straight, play Quake2 and Carmaggedon2, and kick my ass while doing it!

but their mine!! you can't have them!! muhahahahaha!!!
actually, their running around somewhere...their everywhere!! just look in little hamster holes and things :P

i think its good to have forum's like this, most forum's throughout the net are traditionly aimed at one sex or the other ( quakeing boards come to mind ) its a good thing to have a place where both sexes have the same intrests

There's plenty of great female digital artists out there, if you take the time out to look around the web, and given time we will hopefully see more coming here. Kat's an artist that is fantastically talented that has only recently gotten into digital art
and is doing awesome things already.......I think it's important to concentrate on developing your natural artistic skills first then concentrate on the digital
