Salutations people of this Forum. Lets see, i'm new here ... im 19 yrs old, im hoping to 'hang out' here in this forum as much as possible with all you talented artist.(at the same time leeching all your skills and knowledge, especially Dhabih's)
Visit my Works at htgk.com.sg/star, theres a link there pointing to my newly opened 'Comic Corner'. If you go to 'Andro's comics' and look at some of my Photohop colored works yu'll notice that i still have that BLACK OUTLINE thing going on.
I would like to have Colored drawings smooth as Dhabih's, with no black outlines.
I use Corel Draw 8 + Adobe Photoshop 5.0 with Mouse.
My question is: "Dhabih's TIPS section told me to use 'Smudging'. Only problem is that my BLACK outlines seems to be too thick and when i do SMUDGE, the outline stays.
But when i outline with a smaller marker, it makes cleaning up harder to do, as the Brightness/Contrast control will make the some of the thin lines dissapear, very irritating.(Do you guys understand what im talking about ? Or have i lost you).
Anyway, i dont use layers cos i find them troublesome... is this where my problem lies ? Shuld i have used Layers ?
EX: BLack outline on Layer 1. Color on Layer 2.
Smudge Layer 1 and not Layer 2.
Is this the way it shuld go ?
PS: how old is Jess ? ... I dont find many good female comic artists here in singapore.
They all seem to be hiding.

well the fact is that i usually dont paint outlines and if , i dont paint on a white canvas ...
my personal way of working is using color fields to form the picture .. so i dont have to care about getting rid of outlines .
And no .. i doesnt seem to lag ... hmm everything went just fine =)

Welcome to the board. Here is some tough advise. Get over any hang ups you may have about Layers and learn how to use them. Remember, Layers are your friends |

haha, I'm 21. I love your work and your style. I especially like 'blackbookpage12' I agree with the thought. And 'Chronology: The Study Of Time "the new addition"' I often draw my hand drawing whatever I'm drawing. It's very fun to see how deep the picture can get, and how dizzy it can be. I used to do that often when I was at work (when I wasn't AHEM... busy) I wish I could draw as good as you though.
