It seems like 90% of the new posts on this board are about things that have been discussed over and over and over before, like "Which tablet is better: Wacom or Graphire?" or "Where do I buy a Wacom?" or "How does Dodge/burn work?" etc.

I don't think most of the ppl here are big fans of unnecessary repetitivity, so before you post anything, make sure you use the search option, and research the board, cuz there's sooooo much stuff on here.

Not doing so just causes the server to fill up and the board to slow down.

I'm not trying to be a bitch, these are just simple rules of posting on BBS's online.

Later!

Hey Cypher, you know people are too lazy to find something via 'search' function or look at FAQ. I saw about 4-5 times how newbie dudez asking 'how to post an image?' though this question fully covered by FAQ.
I've just got an idea - how about making a real faq not only about technical questions or working on/in/with this board. I mean to create a faq with a questions like this:
- which tablet to buy?
- how to draw?
- how to draw better ?
- how does XYZ function work?
- ...and more the same.

Hmm... what do you think? Any ideas?

Hell yea, that's cool.
Somebody should make an HTML file with basic info about art'n'stuff, and Dhabih can integrate it with his FAQ file.
It should be like this:

When you click FAQ, it gives you 2 links:
+FAQ about this Message Board;
+FAQ about basics of digi-art;

It seems like a good idea. Let's see what Dhabih says.

i think since poeple are asking from word of mouth,., (everyones opinion) about whats the best tablet they should buy and stuff..
someone should just make a survey/poll (kinda) where everyone can vote or submitt to what tablet they USE or one they want.. and then whenever anyone else asks.. just show them the URL to the survey/poll results :P or whatever..
just a thought :P

And as usual, immi shows tons of maturity, and gives a fine example of how to destroy perfectly good message boards.

Do you EVER have anything nice to say?

Oh man, you've got to be kidding right? Ok, now I'll really show my mature side, but c'mon, anyone with half a brain and/or an IQ of over 20 should have been able to tell i was clearly joking...
Head over to www.dictionary.com, they'll explain it all.
joke (jk)
n.

Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.
A mischievous trick; a prank.
An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.
Informal.
Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.
An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His preference for loud ties was the joke of the office.
v. joked, joking, jokes.
v. intr.
To tell or play jokes; jest.
To speak in fun; be facetious.
v. tr.
To make fun of; tease.

And just for everyone else, don't worry, this will be my only reply to this post, I won't go into a flaming war...which is really what messes up boards

If someone gathers the most common repeated questions on these forums (things that have been asked more than 3 or 4 times), i'll go ahead and put together a FAQ that will have a link at the top of both forums. (Any help would be appreciated since i'm having a hard enough time keeping up with the forum as it is.)

hmm
collating the various responses to "Which Wacom?" questions could be tricky.
Just a link to the site won't really do it.
A list of basic specs perhaps? (sizes, model names etc)
The FAQ should probably include links to most of the graphic sites around as well, and some of the big names I guess.

Well, a general answer to the 'what tablet' question can be found on my page ...

And:
Questions like that always pop up in every forum, on every newsgroup - the replies are usually "Check the freakin FAQ, newbie!" and nobody should be offended by it.
