Hope you don't mind, but i used your image to show you a couple of things. As you can clearly see, your image looks far better with the correct positioning, well atleast I think so.

A very basic thing when drawing the human head is that the eyes at in a certain spot, the ears are at a certain spot, the nose is, the mouth is, and so on. This is why the guy from MAD Magazine looks demented . . . his ears are far too low.

Here is the pic . . . I adjusted it a bit by shifting the whole face down a bit. I added a few lines to illustrate the points:

(hopefully that worked!

The yellow lines show that the eyes are almost dead in the center of the head.

The blue lines show the top and bottom of the ears are supposed to line up with the top of the eyes and bottom of the nose. (The MAD Magazine guy's ears are far too low.)

So like I said, your pic is excellent and looks very nice, just fix this little problem. I hope to see the final image. Great work. I too want a tablet.

Nice pic, man. I like the style. Maybe his face is a little misaligned, but hey, you're still better than me. BTW, N8, how many times are we gonna see that Nike pic? Oh well, it's cool anyway.

DrBof - If I'm not mistaken, I belive the reason you think his looks "taller" and more "proud" is since his eyes are higher than his ears, it looks as though he's tilting his head up. And their is nothing wrong with doing that, but to me atleast, the face is that of someone who's heas is tilted back, but the actual head isn't. I belive the way you could fix this would be to shorted the bottom of the face a bit. In other words, cut a bit of the chin off. You must allow the viewer to see atleast a bit of the underside of the jaw, with the beard or without. By doing this, you can let the reader know, he is physically tilting his head back.

Overall, I too can see what you're talking about DrBor, about looking taller and prouder. I guess if you want to try shortening the jaw a bit Jugabee, then go right a head, but by all means, don't take what I'm saying as "RIGHT", it's your picture, do whatever the heck you want. I'm just saying what I think.

I can see where your coming from, Ben. However, in my opinion, once an image is completed, to make such drastic changes would only contort the entire image.

If I would start over and take your advice,
I could probably benefit from it.

Thank you for your feedback.

Hey, no prob Jug. You don't neccessarily have to fix this, I just showed you a couple of things to keep in mind for your next pic. I know making big changes to an already finished picture is "not good". If for some reason you're stuck with anything, I'm glad to help. I like showing people tips, wheather they use them or not. At the same time, I like recieving tips from others. I think thats what this forum is all about. I luv it man.

Later man.

hey jugabee, I agree with you on sometimes it's just too hard to go back and change an image. BTW, you're image looks cool. The things ben pointed out aren't noticeable.

Oh and ben, that advice benefitted me too! Thanks!
