hello everyone....
I know it isn't done. I still have to finish the background and blending the character into the background (shadows etc..)
but I am anxious to post in this forum.
I was a huge spiderman fan when I was a kid so I thought it would be a cool first image to do on my new wacom tablet. This is my first pic so go easy guys!

The overall image lookes sharp and will most likely continue to be sharp when the whole thing is done. To add to that, considering it's your first tablet pic, it's very good. I personally didn't get my Wacom yet, and when I do, I suppose it will take some time to ge use to.
At this moment, I see the proportions are a bit off
1. His right forearm seems too long compared to the upper arm.
2. His left arm seems overall smaller than his right.
I can see that you had a bit of trouble with the hands, especially that one holding up his head.
I like the colouring and shading on the red parts, but to me it seems as though you either didn't take as much time with the blue parts, or you just haven't gotten to them yet.
Like I said, overall, a very good lookin' pic. Keep it up.

Wow, man that pic has some serious potential. I love the shadows and the pose. You seem to have a really good knowledge and undertanding of shadows and the way light plays off of different surfaces, so as far as that goes, especially the red parts of his suit, it looks AWESOME. But, as Ben mentioned, the proportions are slightly off. He is a bit pudgy in places (wrists, ankles), and his limbs are different sizes, but overall it's looking really great. I'd mention the edges of the character, but as you said it's unfinished. Anyway, finish this up, I'm eager to see the end product. (Man, those red parts look REALLY good) |

Yeah, this rendition of spidey has excellent shading, might I even say it's close to the comic genius Alex Ross. All you need to do now is work on your form. Arms are too short, hands are way too small, and the feet are a bit rounded and odd. Other than that, he seems to be in a neat position, its just the anatomy and proportion that needs to be fixed, along with finishing the background of the pic when you're finished.
It also looks like he's waiting for his favorite restaurant to open. Spidey looks a tad chunkified now. Perhaps he's suddenly overweight due to the grief of his childhood. I know getting bit by a radioactive spider would make ME order from dominos

only thing that I see wrong (that hasn't been commented on so far) is that his pecs are out of proportion... normally, the massive (in my case, anyways) chest muscles should extend a little lower.. the bottom definition should be a little lower on his torso... other than that, it looks great!! Keep up the good work... |
