Im using adobe photoshop 3.05, it may not be the most advanced photoshop but its the best for drawing in my opinion. Ive tried 5.5 but the only thing i like in that is undo history. I just got a wacom 6x8 pad for christmas, thats my first pad, im just discovering digital art now. I was primarily a "desktop" artist before, meaning all i could do was make patterns. Oh yeah, Macs rule.

aaah, finally someone who thinks like me.. well, im using 4.0 but i prefer it to 5.5
coz' it really is a lot faster on my pc and i dont see any BIG advantages (except multiple undo of course )..
anyway, i'll stick to 4.0 till i get my athlon 800 =)

Painter. I just can't get that nice rich look w/ Photoshop. But I if I had to stick w/ Photoshop, 3.05 is the way to go. Uses very little resources comparitively.

yep 5.5 is serious resource hog; don't even attempt it without a p2 400; at least 128mb RAM and close to a gig of free swap space

and here i was just bout to install fotoshop 5.5 to see wot it was like...hmm...oh well...i also just got my tablet...and accidently dropped it on floor..eek...but still works...i saw 5.5 on my friends machine and didnt see much of a diff between the 2 versions besides the multiple undos and that the frikken free transform is in a diff spot..hehe...nywho....i like using painter classic too...its fun for sum of my messy kinda works.
