Hey
I'm just thinking about investing in a scanner, to scan in some of my art.Sketches in grahpite and ink and some other media's. Also to scan in pictures and render them
and finish then in photoshop and painter 3d. Is a scanner a good thing to get and what sort of dpi would i scan my stuff in. It would really need to be that detailed. I just want to get my stuff on the pc to edit and play around and put on muy website. Im looking at a scanner which can scan at 10000x10000 32bit which is all i'd need id think.

eek! 10000x10000 dpi?? you crazy mofo, i have Epson scanner at work used to scan medical stuff (x-rays, cepths, "FMX") besides normal opaque photos. Maximum dpi there was 6400 and if you tried scanning whole scanning area with that resolution the image would take up 12 GIGABYTES ehhehahahaha!!!!!!!!
but my scanner at home is 1200 dpi we bought it for 100 bucks, and i tried to scan those 100 bucks and quality was kickass! It still is though hahaha i copied many 100's already LOLOLOL
hahhehehahhehhhwehehahahahehheheh ok.

I've got a hewlett packard scanjet 3200C
Not the best, but it's good enough for my sketches.
There are a lot better scanners out there, but I didn't have the money
Well, hope it helps
