Ok, I spent a few hours 'optimizing' my site.
Now most of the images are GIFs and there are NO MORE POP UPS! (because I signed up with redrival) Plus, I used cyber artists' tip on the popup windows in my gallery. So now all the images open in the same window!
So, now, I *hope* it's more efficient. But maybe it's just my imagination?
So ppl could you please tell me if the images load faster and are all ok now?

Hmm... better and faster than old version.
Good work jasonN. But it takes about 1 min. to found/download your site without cache/proxy. Maybe it's all from my world position.

It's better, all right. You could still shave some k's off, though. For instance, info.gif can be gotten to 3 k by setting the amount of colours to 6 and using no dithering. |

I like it. it's very clean, with a nice black and white look. I like that better than all kinds of offensive colours flashed at me. Great work, keep onnnn sketching.

Hey guys, thanks a lot!
Affected: What's dithering? And how do I go about changing the setting for colours and dithering?
Oh and Leo, where abouts are you?

That would depend on what program you're using. Dithering... Uh. Words fail me. Er... Well, dithering makes an image look like it has more shades than it actually does by placing the pixels in certain patterns. Sort of. :P
Anyhow, if you're using PS for saving gifs, try to get an image optimization program. I use Smartsaver by Ulead.
You could, however try this in PS: convert the image you're saving as a gif to indexed colour. There should be some dithering options, diffusion etc., set ithering to none, and set the amount of colours to 6
I don't know if it'll work, since I think PS simply makes larger GIFs than, for instance, Smartsaver.

Now it takes about 20 sec. As for my homeworld, simply press the 'Profile' button .
And in Paint Shop Pro your can set the amount of colours too.
