Hey Dhab,

In Loony Games (Issue 2.4) you stated:

"I used to start with line drawings colored in flatly, and then I shaded each individual area [..] this way had a more cartoony feel to it. Now I treat the screen as a canvas, like oil painting; putting in large shapes of color and light and then going through to better define shapes."

Would you mind demonstrating that technique in a new tutorial? I'm really curious

Cheers!

Alex.

I'm not Dhabih, I know, but I think you can find the technique explained a bit at http://www.goodbrush.com

Yup. Been there... Craig rules!

I think Dhabih's current coloring phase look a little like this:

But I'm not sure, that's why I started this thread

Ah, I see.
Wasn't the Darth Maul pic done as one of Dhabih's first using this technique?

Could be... sure looks as though it was oil-painted. But still, maybe he could describe the technique in his next tutorial

If what I recall is correct, you'll be a happy man sometime in the future. There was some talk about tutorials that are coming up, and I think this technique was mentioned... I'm not 100 % sure, though, and there was no date given for when the tutorials are going to be finished.

Guess we'll have to wait and see then

Ow... and check #digital-artists (Undernet) while you're at it
It'll probably be empty, but I hope this will change soon...
