Ok, what screen res and internet browser are you using?
When I made my website I assumed that the majority of people on the net run in 800 by 600 with IE 4 or 5.
But technology is getting better, so have you guys moved on from 800 by 600?

Thanx ppl

I know people who are still at 640x480. And believe it or not, some people with newer computer don't even know they can change the resolution. I ran into that all the time at work.

i'm at 1024x 768 or whateverit is(i'm in school) and i use msie 5.0

make your webpage at 800x 600, that way it can appeal to everyone, it's not too small for the larger res and not too big for the smaller ones...plus it might make the guys on the smaller setting go larger

1024x768

IE 5.5

I used to be a Netscape guy but it screwed me around too damn much when designing sites. (including my own)

1280x1024@32 bit, IE 5.0
I wouldn't rely on these stats, though, since chances are that the people here have better-than-average monitors and graphics cards.

I would use Netscape but the MF freezes the computer on certain pages, which is pretty weird.

Most people here probably use 1024x768 and up, but if you want everyone including non-artists to enjoy your site go with 800x600.

I run at 1024 x 768, using MSIE 5 and Communicator 4.5 (was using 4.7, but there's a story which I'm too tired to relate).

What I do when making a webpage, is create it for both browsers. If I want to exploit a certain feature of a certain browser, I'll have 2 separate pages, and just have an autodetect. 800 x 600 should be standard, but you could also go all out and have separate pages for differents res. Depends what ya want. Wanna keep it simple, go with 800 x 600.

My five cents. @:-)

Funfetus, yeah, I know there are other browsers that NS and MSIE, but they're like the industry standards. And if you want the world to look at your website, you don't just want to build it for Opera or Mosaic etc. @:-)
