Yeah all the SIN pics are right out of the 3d cinematics for the game. I think they use a combination of 3d and ps for a lot of their stuff. Either way, they rock.
1st post, hi all and kudos to Dhabih from a fan!

Yea, I've been following Glyphx around for a while now, and they kick ass. All their stuff is done in 3dStudio and Lightwave, believe it or not, but one of them is a traditional modeler/sculptor, who makes the models out of clay, and they use hella advanced shape capturing hardware to digitize them. Then, the rest is pretty basic 3d stuff. They only use PS for masks and stuff. |

Imdaking: What i ment was that they have managed to make stuff in 3D-studio that don't look like 3D.. If you know what i mean... I didn't mean that they actually made the stuff in P-shop, it just looks that way... |

Anibyte is a good artist, but the most impressive part is that he hasn't updated his gallery since '96 -- All that stuff you see was done 3+ years ago.. which makes it all the more spectacular.
Also, Glyphx owns my left nut.

I got ya zymac but...
Did you know the show
South Park, is entirely done on SGI workstations?
Thus pointing out that things in 3d can look 2d!

Yep, I Know, But it looks more like Vector-graphics, than photoshop. And by the way, am i the only one in this world who think South park Sucks? (Mostly because it is Butt-ugly). |

I think the original South Park episode was animated with construction paper cutouts. The company I used to work for had the official Adobe Illustrator files of all the characters, which was pretty cool...
Despite its ugliness, I think South Park is quite amusing, though it does get redundant after a while.

If you look at the South Park end credits, you'll see that they have about 30 cut'n' pasters. So it is done out of paper cutouts. (part of it if not the whole thing.) When they first started, it was entirely done of paper and markers.
Kinda like The Simpsons. The first 10-15 episodes were drawn entirely by hand and animated using traditional means by only one person(!?!) |

GlyphX is extremely good at making 3d images that don't look like they're computer done. They have a 2d/3d look to them that's really nice. In some cases it goes beyond traditional 3d CGI modelling and starts looking like miniratures... something that's a lot harder than it might seem.
Heya Gwot, small world... when it comes to computer graphics forums.
For those of you who don't know, Digital Extremes is the sister company to Epic Megagames, they helped make Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Gwot was very recently brought on board for help with their next project(s). Gwot is an extremely good 3d artist himself... maybe he'll put up some of his previous works.
