i'm not yet into digital art so if you feel like this is just bathering you, skip it. else, i draw a little on, eh.. real paper? and i'm pretty bad drawing heads, faces and hair. if someone have a god idea how i could make these things easier i'd be greatfull!! and very happy if someone had some examples or so!

Ok newbie... There are only ten steps you'll need to do:
1. Draw a lot. Train your eyes!
2. Read books some of this stuff (techniques, beginners guides are good stuff). Go to the library first before trying to purchase (You can memorize everything in it for two weeks anyway, if you draw a lot that is).
3. Draw a lot. Train your mind.
4. Ask a lot. That's why this forum is here, right?
5. Draw a lot. Make doodles.
6. If you got some problems with something in particular, go into detail with it. Draw only that "thing" for about 10 pages. Should work fine.
7. Draw a lot. Make doodles when you don't feel like it.
8. If you really wan't to do this stuff, you should: eat, sleep, think, shit with only one thing in mind: never give up! It will always take time, but it will work... eventually.
9. Draw a lot, and then some!
10. Use the pencil, ok?
About the specific heads, faces and hair... it's difficult to explain but read some books about it and make a lot of portraits ok?

| To recommend a book on the basics of drawing (mostly heads). Drawing on the right side of the brain. It's really good for beginners. And it looks at drawing from a different angle. |

thanks everyone (extras to Spike!) for your replys and tips and tricks!! this has made me wanna draw a lot more! i hope i get a Wacom board in christmas gift! but for now, i will still keep draw on like before!!! thanks again for your replays!!

One thing I've noticed that help me realise proportions and general drawing of people is going through some Anime tutorials. It's a basic art style, but for me it made me see different ways to do stuff I jsut couldn't master before. The site I'll plug is Muto Anime. He's got some great tutorials that'll lead you through the whole process:
