WOW! A very generous friend gave me his Wacom PenPartner. I havn't got it nor seen it, but what I was wanting to know is. Is this thing any good? Or is it a worthless peice of crap that i'm paying $10 shipping for? How big are they? Are they any good for drawing of this type? Thanks

The penpartner is actually a good tablet to start with, but it's kinda small, especially when you like to do your sketching on it.
But when you use it just for inking or coloring it'll do fine. The size is about a cd-box.
For sketching I'd buy at least an A5 sized intuos tablet, but they're pretty expensive.

Anyway, good luck with your new wacom

Well, I have an artpad II, but it's the same size as the penpartner, and I find it quite sufficient. I don't do line sketching with it, though. If I don't work from scans, I just paint directly with colour, and that technique doesn't require as much accuracy. But if you're getting the thing for 10 dollars, you should feel truly fortunate.

I ordered the latest one from Wacom, the Wacom Graphire. It is as big as the Pen Partner, but has a pencil which is more sensitive I think. Besides there is a cordless mouse included.
I think that is a good choice for beginners (as I am), but I can't tell how it feels to work with, because I don't have it yet.

Yes, the graphire has about 200 more levels of sensitivity. I would rather have this one for $10 and buy a bigger one later.
