| Just to make a quick comment, Photoshop 'is' the industry standard. I've tried Photopaint, but kind of got lost with it. Photoshop is easy, quick, and very powerful. And companies like PS for those reasons and also because it's been around for a long time. |

yeah... each program has it's ups and downs... i guess photoshop has more ups than downs... and yes, of course, it's a standart... damn, i just wish i could have a scripting language instead of those dumbass actions....

Well, I've always used Corel Photopaint. I've seen Photoshop a few times, but never really used it. But from what I saw, and have found in Photoshop tutorials, it seems like they are fairly similar. I was wondering how these two products compare. It seems like everyone is using Photoshop, so is it really a lot better?

| i've used both for long periods of time, i like the ability to have all the different brush shapes in photopaint, other than that i prefer photoshop for ease of use |

I've got the whole Corel Draw! 8 pakage. And PhotoPaint is a good program, BUT IT'S SO F***IN' SLOW! 
Both programs are very similar, so you can use the Photoshop tutorials on PhotoPaint. I'm telling from own experience here.
