Self promotion for myself started with creating this web page and then sending some drawings that were game related out to some real big news sites.

Hey, Dhabih, do you rely on search engines at all? |

I get most of my hits from search engines. I submitted to every search engine I could find, and used lots of (relevant) keywords in my meta tags. People usually get to my site by searching for "digital art" or "fantasy paintings" or "jungle girl" and whatnot.
Another thing you can do is make friends with someone who gets a lot of hits, so they link you. :P

Hey, fetus, You're hella good, mang!!!
It's rare when I see an artist as good as you. Most people make a big deal out of it and they're wannabe's.
Anywayz, GL with your art! Keep it up!

Hey Shrimpish, nice website you've... extremly remind me Dhab's work (both web design and artwork)... but there can be only one Dhab !
(Wow! Just everyone starting the reply with a "Hey" word )
Dhab, what "some real big news sites" do you mean? ...or maybe someone else know them too ?

That's wird, cuz when I designed my site, I tried to stay as far away as possible from anybody's style. Especially Dhabih's.
I personally don't think it resembles of his site whatsoever.
Mine looks all dirty and rusty, I got the street environment, street signs, rollovers, totally different frames... etc.
Weird that you think that, but oh, well. |

Shrimpish,
Your design doesn't look anything like Dhabih's. So I don't know what he is talking about either. But I remember your old site and how many ppl said that, so I am glad you changed your designed, and even better got your own domain name...cool site.
I didn't look at the code, but I did notice a thin black line between the top frame or and the below frames....but I looking with netscape 4.0 and I don't know how it looks in IE..but good design. |

Shrimpish, weren't you the guy who was getting youre pants in a knot over dhabih's use of that model for his eclipse pic? Ah well, what can i say, you suck.
Funfetus, your artwork has an awesome style!
and to leo, dhabih is referring to places like www.gameart.com, probably bluesnews.com, and the quake related game art sites that sprung up. Do a search for his name on alta vista, and you can actually track it. |

FunFetus you rock the ruckus man =)
I totally dig your style...I like dark art.
The 'don't ask' image is sooo bad ass !
I like the meaning behind it...
whatever drove you to create it, all the best to you in the future!
check out my lil site, with not much work...
half of my work / to almost all of it
is sitting on my Harddrive ready to be worked on with a WACOM tablet, but I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm still thinking....
6x8 ...or 9x12 ?! ahhh the choices!
I totally like the jungle girl pic too
I just wish it wasn't in comic-style, and more realism...but I can't get everything I want...even for christmas! ACK

Shrimpish, don't take it to heart! It's only MY opinion... simply for me, your website content look same to Dhab... yeah, you've got the street environment... it's kinda hard to explain... well, do you feel difference between Dhab's and Craig Mullins websites?
Anyway take it easy, i've bookmarked your site .
immi, great link but what about non 3D Action news sites? Say... RTS?

Hey, IMMI, chill!
I know it's easy to talk shit when you got nothing to defend yourself with.
BTW, I think your art sucks ass, too. (In advance.)

Can anyone take a look at my work in progress
and help me figure out what to do!
I draw with a mouse, so I can't pull off the
amazing tablet styles...i paint instead
of filling in an outline.
http://anthonys.8m.com/Kneelman.jpg
check it out, tell me what you think,
what can i improve on.
So far I think the light source is coming from the left hand side. I want the kneeling man to be holding an object, perhaps a weapon of some sort.
------------------
I changed a few things, slight difference.
It looks a bit cleaner, but obviously
FAR from being finished.
Any suggestions ??
Colour, use of light? Some kind of texture.
Oh, BTW I have no idea how to do those crazy
texture things, to put armour or something
on the guy. I'd really like to be able to do something like that...
still awaiting
