Well, aaah, I've got a very ugly hardware problem and no one has been able to solve it so far. I've got AMD K6-2 333, 64MB memory and Matrox G400Dualhead with 32MB RAM for videocard. Well, the problem is that any game that has more complicated graphics than Quake2 or Turok2 runs really slow-10 or 20fps. NeedForSpeed3 and 4 are unplayable. Re-Volt is so-so. I tried reinstalling the drivers for my Matrox, I tried removing the damn monster and installing it again -no good. In some games the following phenomenon appears - in the beginning the game plays works fine, and then everything slows down to the above mentioned framerate. It just behaves like my old VirgeDX. Can anyone help me? |

"in the beginning the game plays works fine"
what do you mean by that exactly? You mean you are getting, what? 30-40 fps? then it slows down to 10-20?
If that is the case, then it sounds like the VC is overheating. I would suggest a PCI or ISA fan card (like 10-20 bucks) and see if that works...if you don't want to wait, I usually put a box fan on the open case just to see if overheation is the problem...
