Hey dhabih

Im curious as to how how you started doing magazine covers? Were you noticed from your web presence or did you send out stuff to companies? Also, i know salary is a touchy subject, but seeing as it was a while ago that you were doing covers, what was the going rate for it?
thanks

Oh, just wanted to add I think you should consider changing the format of the threads so that the original question is at the top. It seems most people support this idea...it is kinda confusing..i know i always scroll to the bottom to see what the question was origianlly.

Explain to me how any method of having the messages ordered a specific way is "right". I think that Dhabih should place a CGI poll on his page so that the majority can decide which way the messages should be ordered.

immi, the mag covers happened from my website. A couple art directors for magazines saw my page and contacted me about doing covers.

Prices range from $600-$2500 and up from there. In general.
(i'm not at liberty to discuss my specific price, due to a pending a lawsuit. ok, not really, but i'm still doing covers so....)

and a cgi poll will take a really really long time to make...since i dont know how to program cgi scripts . I think i'm gonna switch it to the other order though, since i'm prefering it also and so do most others.

what i wish i could do was have original message at top, then the latest replies following it...but i cant do that with this message board script.

Dhab,

I'm not sure if this will help, but if you check out http://www.designsbymark.com you will see that his forum is just like this one. (delphi)
I asked him to let you know if theres a way to change it.

thanks nocturnal, but i'm using a different message board than his. The one i have i can't edit that much, i just have a bunch of settings i can choose, and for thread order, the only ones are regular or reversed.

Dhab,
does the magazines art directors look at your world position? If you wouldn't be from US can they contact with you anyway?

Leo, i don't think it matters what country your in because you can just send them the drawing over email or in the mail. I did covers for the UK and US. Also since its a contract/freelance job, the companies dont have to deal with work visas and all that stuff.

Alex, thanks, however i think this UBB is already compiled or something, there is no source thats readable. I'll keep you in mind if i need other stuff though. thanks
