Just a heads up on something i think looks great! Now you see some people making use of free Q1 and Q2 engine code.. hehe or having fun rather.

OMG that new map looks very sweet! Kinda like what i saw in Doom3 but cleaner.

I don't, but i have some guy on my list who still plays Quake DM and nothing else
I don't know how they do it..

There are tens of mods out there based on Q1 and Q2 source code. Ill post a link if i find a list, others look impressive as well.

Ya heh, wolf, doom1/2/etc..., quake1 and 2 source code is fully available. Quake3 partially but hey the full code will be released probably in like 3 years maybe less maybe more (for quake3 that is) Ah well There are too many quake3 clones anyways not that id care, its fun to see quake1 still rocking.

quake was and still is one of the best net playable games made. the rockets haul ass .
i would be playing it if i could get it to run under win2k

Buzzsaw and you can. Its called queakeworld and it runs fine under 2k. There is still tons of ppl playing.

The textures a really grainy.
Meh, doesn't look very fulfilling past the point of a hobby. Still to do that stuff though, maybe I could try hacking away at the source code.

its GRAINY because its low res :P Even doom3 is a bit grainy but hey these are all on OLD resources. I just hope it becomes even more optimized because doom3 only requires a geforce1 to be played!

wow... friggin cool in my opinion. its nice to see pixel shading stuff in action, and stencil shadows are cool too. could only find quake shareware to try it on at the moment
