So you develop a game on UT2003 engine first, and then buy the engine for $500,000 or whatever it costs?

I'm pretty sure it's going to be more expensive.. And what does the fact that the game is (was) not out yet has to do with not being able to get the engine ? Just a question.. |

Well you cant really buy and engine until the game is out, how would UT developers feel if a mod for their game came out before the actual game? They just dont sell it yet. And right now we are in the process of making all of the models/level stuff like that, hence we need a texturer. |

Oh bah.. a MOD!
Why did you say a game then? The only little detail about your project that you gave, and even that was wrong.
Mainly, your both web links give a bad impression. |

Secondly the game is a total conversion, not a mod....get your shit straight please. |

Heh you get yours together. You're the one trying to recruit people and saying nothing about what you're doing.
If i wanted to join something, first i'd want to know ALL information about it down to every detail. |

Here is the part of the design document describing the TC.
A 3D bimodal game that allows the server operator to choose between a fast paced stratgic action game or a methodical resource management game. The player will be able to play single player (offline with bots) or multiplayer (online with other human players with the option of adding bots).
The player will be able to choose between 1 of 4 races and then a specific trade within that race. Upon entering the game the player will be able to control teammate bots using a point and click menu system to allow them to fight along with him, defend a spot, initiate recce patrols or forward attack while leaving the player behind.
The teammate bots will also have the capability to collect resources or build and repair buildings and units if the gametype is set to this mode.
The player can also host his own server offline and play against the computer for single player action. He will be able to command his own fellow teammate bots to conquer the computer controlled enemy/enemies.
Each race will have its specific units with their specific arsenal of skills and weaponry. Each race will also have their own buildings and mapping atmosphere. Each race will also have their respective technology tree that allows them to have certain skills/abilities that are unique to their race.
